What will I do as a demonstrator?

You will share your love of creating cards, gifts and/or scrapbook pages with family and friends. You can do this through sharing one-on-one, doing in-home workshops, classes and/or other events. If you choose to, you will also help others enjoy the fun and flexibility of running their own Stampin’ Up! business. Will I receive support and training as a demonstrator? By joining you will become part of my team, and I’ll provide you with all the help and support you need — but I will never push or pressure you to do more than you desire. Whether your goals are to just support your stamping habit or you want to build a successful business, I am here to help. I will be here for you at all times – all you have to do is call or email me! On top of that, Stampin’ Up! provides the following:

How will I make money as a demonstrator? Since customers pay you directly, you will keep 20% of each order placed at the time of their payment. Do people really make money at this?
YES!! Depending on how much time you want to put into “your” business, you can make whatever income you desire! It is totally up to you!

What are the minimum sales requirements? To stay active as a demonstrator you will need to sell a minimum of $300 per quarter. Most demonstrators find that this goal can be reached in one or two workshops per quarter–or with their own purchases.

What if I only want to do this as a hobby? Do I still have to do workshops? Absolutely not!! Stampin’ Up! supports the hobby demonstrator just like the career demonstrator. You can put in your own order or collect orders from family & friends that equal $300 a quarter.
Do I have to stock product? No. You will only order items when someone places an order and pays you in advance, so you won’t need to keep inventory of products.

How much does it cost to get started? The Starter Kit is only $175 plus tax. This kit is customizable (choose your own sets at stated price points and you may change some accessory colors) for a total of $310 in product for only $175. It includes everything you will need to get your business up and running—including stamps and accessories as well as business supplies.

What if I decide it’s not for me once I’ve started? Will I be penalized if I quit? You simply stop placing orders. If you don’t meet the minimum requirement, Stampin’ Up! will just “drop” you—no penalties, no questions asked! But I guarantee that once you start you won’t want to stop!!

What kind of incentives will I receive as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator? There are so many perks with this business that I don’t know where to start! Here are just a few for new demonstrators offered .

Do I have to attend meetings? There is always something going on which include a combination of business and stamping events which are completely optional, but a lot of fun if you choose to come!

Are there any Stampin’ Up! events that I can attend as a new demonstrator? Yes, and they are a blast! Every year in July there is the annual convention. Imagine several thousand crazy stampers in one place for 4 days! There are also regional training events throughout the country each year, and local events organized BY Stampin’ Up! demonstrators FOR Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators.

Do you really love what you do? I absolutely LOVE what I do and I know you will, too. One of the reasons I love it so much is because of the friendships I have made. Some of my best friends are demonstrators who I would not have met if it were not for Stampin’ Up! This is just the best job in the entire world!!!!I hope I answered some of your questions. Go Carolina Gamecocks! Altered Tin with Magnets

My middle child and oldest daughter, Emily, was home this past weekend from her Freshman year of college at University of South Carolina. (I MISS HER TERRIBLY!) I mentioned that I bet she was tired of all the Gamecock “stuff” and she answered that she really didn’t HAVE any Gamecock “stuff!” (whaaat???)

So I had a little fun making her a special set of magnets for her dorm room message board. I repurposed a tin that some Stampin Up accessories had come in and decorated the outside with Cherry Cobbler and Basic Black card stock. The designs with the Gamecock images are some graphics that I use with my bottlecap necklaces. I cut the images into one inch circles and apply the to the back of 1” glass circles.(These same glass pieces can be used to create some pretty necklaces or earrings too!) To apply the graphics to the glass, I use Crystal Effects from Stampin Up. I cover the glass and apply the graphic piece then coat the outside of the paper with Crystal Effects also to protect it.

Once the Crystal Effects was completely dry (overnight), I attached a magnet using E6000 glue.) The magnets keep them in place in the tin and look super cute!

Of course I wouldn’t want to give a gift without a card so I also created a matching card to go with the gift. For those of you NOT from South Carolina, the Palmetto tree and moon image is on our state flag and is a popular image to show our pride in being Carolina girls! I used the stamp set, “Plant Hope,” from Stampin Up, for the tree and a moon image from the new Halloween set, “Out on a Limb.” I cut out letters using the Big Shot and that’s it! Easy Peasy!

Now, let’s just hope she’s STUDYING!

Baby Shower Catch Up

My daughter threw a baby shower for a friend last Spring and we had the best time making the favors and decorations! I’m just now getting around to sharing the pictures with you! The diaper cake above was a lot of fun. The little “picks” are just printed off images from My Digital Software from Stampin Up. I punched them out, layered them with larger circles and sandwiched them around a cake pick. Add ribbon and an adorable stuffed dog! We repeated the same images and circles and attached them to the little brown favor boxes for little gifts to the guests. You like???

Pennant Parade Scrapbook Layout

I’ve saved the best for last in our little series of Pennant Parade samples! Stephanie created the cutest scrapbook layout using the same supplies as the card and party favors.

The buttons, seam binding ribbon and linen thread give the page an extra little something to remember a special birthday. I know I’ve said it before but it bears repeating that the best thing about Stampin Up is the coordinating papers, accessories and ribbons. They make short order of designing some really beautiful projects.

By the way, I do realize these pictures are pretty POOR! I have truly tried everything under the sun to get a good picture of a 12x12 scrapbook page and would welcome and any suggestions! :)

Stampin Up’s Pennant Parade

As promised, today’s project is some super cute little favors Stephanie created using Pixie Sticks. Now I was excited when I saw them laying on my desk but my seven year old was BESIDE HERSELF!

These were made using the Pennant Parade stamp set and the coordinating punch. The punches make it so simple to cut out the perfect little flags that layer within each other so easily. Add a little designer paper and a yummy treat and you have the perfect birthday party favor!

Notice that the edges of the circles in the middle are sponged with ink and for added dimension they were adhere using Stampin Dimensionals. Have a fun day and enjoy!

One more card from the stamp set, Button Buddies! This card was cased from one I saw in an old Stampin Up catalog. I stamped the image using markers on to Very Vanilla card stock and cut it out. The buttons are attached using mini glue dots. This is a pretty simple card to make and have on hand when you need a quick Thank you. Of course, you could always switch out the sentiment and use for all sorts of occasions!

Thanks a Million Button Buddy!

Today’s post is a cutie made from the same stamp sets, Button Buddies and Word Play. I used a small piece of Designer Series Paper and a strip of Poppy Parade card stock to accent what is a really simple card. I added a button to the piggy with a mini glue dot. The images from this set are meant to coordinate with the Designer Buttons. Doesn’t he just make the cutest piggy? :)

As promised, here’s another card using the Button Buddies and Word Play stamp sets from the brand new 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalog. I love the flower in the Button Buddies set and thought it was fun to use as a background accent and also as the central point of the card. I used some of the brand new card stock in Wisteria Wonder for the card base. To create the raised border, I just scored on the opposite side. I thought this would give it a little more interest. I stamped the card base in Elegant Eggplant so it would show up nicely.I stamped the flower in Blushing Bride ink on to Blushing Bride card stock and cut it out using (drum roll please!) the Scallop Circle punch! THAT’S RIGHT! No tedious cutting! The Button Buddies stamp set was created to coordinate beautifully with the Designer buttons so I added a button detail to finish it off. I hope you like it!

Imagine the Possibilities

It has been a crazy around here for quite some time and I have lots to tell you and share with you! (I HAVE missed you all and your kind comments and emails!) Thanks so much to those of you who missed me back and sent the sweetest messages checking on me!

Here’s what’s been going on…I’ve been participating in festivals and fairs almost every weekend selling my bottlecap necklaces exclusively. Here’s a picture of my little tent set-up:

I would love to know what you think of it and if you have any suggestions! Who would have dreamed my little Christmas necklaces (click for instructions) would have become this? Imagine!

My middle child and older daughter, Emily, graduated from high school. Boo HOO! I’m so so proud of her but these kids are LEAVING HOME so FAST! Emily is going to the University of South Carolina in the fall. Who would have dreamed my baby would grow up to be such a beautiful and smart young lady? Imagine!

In the meantime, my oldest son joined the National Guard and is at Fort Benning, GA, completing Basic Training. He was just a little guy the other day and now he’s a grown up soldier. Imagine!

(By the way, he will KILL me when he sees I posted this picture of him with his Army issue “dork glasses.” )

So to explain…we have been SO busy! Stampin’ Up has been so good to me too. Thanks to you, my customers and downline team members and the support of my upline, Patty, I was able to promote to MANAGER! I know that sounds silly, of course, but it’s a really big deal to me and included some awesome incentives! I got all kinds of new product from the catalog, a Stampin Up event paid for (like Regionals or Convention or Leadership). I’m really so excited! I never would have thought that my fun hobby would turn into something so awesome! Imagine!

Enough about me! Today’s card was inspired by the possibilities! I used the super cute and adorable and brand new set, Button Buddies. Each of the images is designed to pair with our Designer Buttons.

One Great Year - - Clean and Simple Sketch #FTL130

Today’s post is another card made using the remnants from the One Great Year Simply Scrappin Kit. I used an easy sketch from the Clean and Simple Stamping Blog. This card was just TOO easy! Here’s the sketch and the measurements: 1. Old Olive Card Base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 2. Designer Paper: 2-3/4 x 5-1/2 3. Elegant Eggplant card stock punched out with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch (119275) 4. Very Vanilla card stock stamped with sentiment from Great Friend stamp set (113792) and punched out with the Curly Label Punch (119851)

One Great Year - Mojo Monday #185

I am trying to use up the remnants from my One Great Year Simply Scrappin Kit and have been super busy with festivals so I took advantage of the sketches at Mojo Monday’s Blog and the Clean and Simple Blog. All of the cards use Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive, Basic Gray and Whisper White. The first card is the Mojo Monday sketch and uses the Simple Friendship stamp set.

To make the scallop border, I used my 3/4” circle punch and punched out circles. I attached the circles by using a length of Sticky Strip.

Here’s a better look at the card up close. My camera just can’t capture the really pretty colors in the papers.Here’s the measurements so you can make your own:

1. Card Base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored and folded in half
2. Old Olive layer: 3-1/2 x 5-1/4
3. Elegant Eggplant inside layer: 3 x 4
4. Designer Paper: 2-3/4 x 3-3/4

Stampin Up Craft Show Item–Altered Binder Clips

These little binder clips were completely sold out at the craft fair! They are the medium clips that are 1-1/4” are covered with designer paper. I added some flowers for fun and think they make the cutest little favors. I sold these for $1 each and displayed them as recipe/photo holders. They are just darn cute for holding your papers together too!

I thought they would be hard to see at the show so I just set them up on a corner and they were all gone the first day! To make them, just cut a piece of DSP 1-1/4 x 2 and attach it to the binder clip using Sticky Strip. Attach the flowers or other embellishment with a glue dot and that’s it! It’s a great project to use up some of those scraps that are multiplying in your craft space! Hope you like them. You’ll recognize some of the retired Stampin Up papers and some current ones too! I love our ribbons and papers, I really DO! These bookmarks were another cased item from www.kerryspapercrafts.com. They were cut and layered with Designer Paper, decorated with stickers and laminated. Thread a ribbon through the punched hole and that’s it! I ended up selling these for $1.50-$2.25 each. Everybody liked them – what do you think?

I know you remember these little candle boxes from my Twelve Weeks of Christmas series. I changed them up and made them Spring-y for my Spring craft show. The directions and dimensions for these boxes are available HERE. I sold them for $7.50 each at the fair. Par for the course, I did use a lot of retired papers and ribbons. You would think after making ALL that “stuff” that I would have used it all up but NO! Stampin’ Up’s packs of Designer Papers last and last and last! So my hoarded stash is still safe!

Stampin Up Craft Fair–Tea Light Candle Gift Sets

Todays Craft Fair Share are some Tea Light Candle Gift Sets. (These sold for $3.00 each.) I have seen similar sets online that were stamped, etc. and just thought the idea was so cute. These are SO simple to make. I cut a piece of card stock for the “Backing”. The candles look decorated but they are simply punched circles of DSP with a small hole punched in the center. I did not glue them down or anything - - I just put the circle on each candle by inserting the wick into the hole in the center and bending the wick back down. The topper is made by punching out a scallop circle and folding it in half. After folding it over the top of the package, I punched two small holes through the whole thing and added ribbon.

The bags are pretzel bags that you can find in the cake/candy section of your craft stores. I DO put a little note in with the gift that the paper disc should be removed before burning the tea lights!

Stampin Up Craft Fair Item–Mini Clipboards

These were most definitely a best-seller at the craft show last weekend. Mini Clipboards are so fun and so easy to make and really show off the truly beautiful designer papers Stampin’ Up! carries. I used retired papers (and still haven’t made a dent in the stash, I might add.) These are made by covering a chipboard coaster with designer paper. I think Tombow glue probably works the best for this. Once dry, sand the edges. I cut pieces of DSP to fit the medium size binder clips that I used for the “Clip” portion of the little clipboard. I cut them 1-1/4” x 2” and attached them with Sticky Strip. Add a piece of ribbon and a post-it note pad and you’re in business!

I sold these for $3.00 each and sold all but about five of them. I made about FORTY-five so not too bad for a little bit of work. I have no idea who originated this idea because I’ve seen it all over the internet so I’m sorry I can’t give credit to the genius behind the design! They really are just so cute in person. Tired of seeing all this craft fair stuff??? Just holler and I’ll switch back to cards for a while!

Jumbo Clothespins Stampin’ Up Style for the Craft Fair

These are some MORE of the the items I sold at the Craft Fair last weekend. These are Jumbo Clothespins covered in our awfully pretty Designer Series Papers. I like to use Mod Podge to attach the paper and paint another coat on top to protect it from moisture in case the clips will be used in the kitchen as recipe holders.

Craft Show Best-Seller Hershey Nugget Tins

Two days in to the Craft Show and Nugget Tins are one of the fastest selling items! These are super fun to make and make the perfect gift. I love to give these as hostess gifts, Easter Basket fillers/gifts, Teacher Gifts, Thank-yous…do I need to keep going? These sell for $7.00 and are filled with covered Hershey Nuggets. I told several gals today that I love to make these tins because I EAT as many as I wrap and decorate!

Here’s the down-low on how to do this easily…

1. Run a strip of Sticky Strip along the 12” edge of a piece of Designer Paper cut 3” x 12”. (Sticky Strip is a two sided tape that is VERY strong. It comes with one side covered with a protective film.)

2. Before removing the protective film, cut strips that are 1” wide x 3” long. The Sticky Strip should now be on the 1” side of the 1x3 piece. “Clear as mud?”

3. Wrap the strips around each Hershey nugget removing the protective film and sticking together.

Here’s some close-ups of just a few of the tins I took to the craft show…

The outside is decorated by wrapping a 10” long piece of paper or cardstock around the tin and adding ribbon, stamped pieces or additional embellishments. Tell me what you think! I took two dozen Nugget Tins with me to the craft show and am down to just a few left!

Stamped Easter Candle and Ramekin Gift

Another quick post today! The first day of the craft show in Savannah went well and I really enjoyed meeting demonstrators from the area and nearby Beaufort. So here’s a “Shout Out” to the really nice girls I met today at the Springtime Made in the South show.

Today’s post is one of the projects I am selling at the craft show. These are the sweetest pastel colored ramekins that I have stepped up by adding some paper shred like an Easter basket and a little stamped Easter votive. I wrapped the whole thing in cellophane and tied off with Stampin’ Up! ribbon and I think it turned out to be a sweet hostess gift or Easter treat for a friend!

To stamp on a candle - - here’s the directions:

1. Stamp the desired image on a piece of tissue paper

2. Cut the stamped image out of the tissue paper and place on the candle. Hold in place with a small piece of Dotto if desired.

3. Cover the entire image with wax paper. Stretch the wax paper around the candle until it’s smooth over the image.

4. Heat the wax paper with a heat gun until the image begins to appear slightly “shiny.” The wax from the wax paper should have slightly melted and adhered the stamped image on to the candle.

Be sure to try it out! Easy peasy and so very cute. I have about a dozen of these at the craft fair and am selling them for $6.00 each. Have a great weekend!

Personalized Hand Sanitizers

I’m packing up for my craft fair this weekend so today’s post will another quickie! I used MY DIGITAL STUDIO software from Stampin’ Up! to create these sweet Hand Sanitizers. So much cuter than the tacky label that was on these bottles when I got them.

I got the idea from another website HERE. To create these, I printed the images from My Digital Studio on to Clear Transparencies. THEY MUST BE PRINTED WITH A LASER PRINTER FOR THIS TO WORK! If you try to print it with an Inkjet printer, the ink will float right off. I cut the image out making sure to leave a border at the bottom big enough so that it would be in the middle of the bottle. Then I took the lid off and inserted the printed piece of transparency into the bottle of hand sanitizer. I used the pump of the bottle to work the piece around till it was up against the inside walls of the bottle and in the right position. THAT’S IT! Aren’t they cute? Stampin’ Up’s Woodland Walk Scrapbook Pages

I know what you’re thinking -- is scrapbook pages all you’ve got??? Well, no! I’ve got tables full of fun stuff to share with you but haven’t had the time to take the pictures so I thought I would share these with you! These page bases are the cool “wood-grain” papers from the Woodland Walk Designer Paper from Stampin’ Up. The Pumpkin Pie layer was stamped all over in the same color of ink using the leaf images from the stamp set, “Autumn Splendor” (in the current Idea Book and Catalog available in the left sidebar.) The letters were cut using the Big Shot by the way. I DO love that machine. I also used Pacific Point card stock from Stampin’ Up and various buttons to jazz it up a bit. What ya’ think???

Celebrations Scrapbook Page and Lots of Bots

Today will be a quick share as I’m working frantically on craft fair stuff! This is a really fun scrapbook layout (12x12). I almost always do two-page layouts so that they will look good in the book! (The one I don’t have a single picture in!) These pages were made using the Celebrations DSP and Accents and the super cute stamp set, “Lots of Bots” from Stampin’ Up! I stamped the robots in the corner of the nice long journaling space and colored them in using Stampin Write Markers.

Now about those little “accents” in the top left and bottom right of each page……I punched the little tag out first. The “fringes” are just strips of paper that I ran through the crimper and trimmed to look like ribbon. Then I punched a small blue dot to look like a brad…easy peasy!

Ready for some Scrapbooking in Greenhouse Gala?

I have to tell you that I almost didn’t post this layout because I’m pretty sure that ORANGE is my worst color. I’m a “summer” – I’m blonde (well, I was) – I’m NOT a fan of orange because it smells like FALL which feels a lot like cold. So just know that this is a sacrifice!

This is a two-page layout using Pumpkin Pie card stock and Greenhouse Gala Designer Paper. The stamped images are from my favorite set, Lovely Letters, Friends Never Fade and Ornate Blossom. LOVE – now whose picture to put on the ORANGE? Not mine!

Desk Notepads Using Acrylic Frames

Today’s pictures are of some of the projects I’ve been making for the upcoming craft fair. They are little desk top accessories for your post it notes and I just adore them. Mind you, it wasn’t my idea to create them – they are copied from crafters all over the internet! One of my favorites is www.kerryspapercrafts.com. She is an awesome crafter and particpates in craft shows on a regular basis. I loved hers so away I went!

It’s hard to see in the picture but these are 4x6 acrylic frames that you can get almost anywhere! They are turned over on to the opposite side so it sits a little lower and elevates the notepad. Genius.

Now ya’ll know I love you but there was no way I was gonna take those plastic sleeves off of those frames AGAIN just to take a better picture. I bought the frames with a protective sleeve on them and decided to replace it once I was done decorating them to protect them. Sorry for the glare on the pictures – you’ll just have to suck it up and accept it.

These are made by inserting a 4x6 piece of designer paper that’s also been decorated inside of the frame. Pop on a ribbon, pen and post-it note pad and you’re in business!

I will sell these for $5.00 at the craft fair. Do leave a comment and tell me what you think.

Oh yeah, and, HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! Hope you’re stepping through rose petals, eating chocolate covered strawberries and just generally enjoying those new diamond earrings!

You should just SEE my Stamping Garage! There’s no where to walk, sit or ~~STAMP.~~ Never mind. There’s always room to stamp!

Craft Fairs are the perfect place to break out all that retired paper and ribbon you have laying around. It’s a good excuse to spend all your time stamping and playing too by the way!

I’m just making and stamping like a crazy person and throwing it on the two tables I have set up. The problem is that now I’m ready for a third table! Now if you’ve seen my previous craft show pictures, you know that means I’m about OUT of room. I’ll keep you posted!

Nature’s Walk In Botanical Gazette–Day 6

Well, I think I saved the best for last. Today’s the last post in a series of cards made with Nature’s Walk from the Occasions Mini Catalog. I cased it from a 3x6 card made by Holly Krautkremer at rubberredneck.typepad.com. I embossed the first layer of Basic Black using my Big Shot, stamped the bee, and all the rest was just sticking it together! I love this card!

Nature’s Walk In Botanical Gazette–Day 5

I have to tell you – I love this card! I cased this from a similar card on the cover of the 2008 Idea Book and Catalog. I really love the combination of colors, I guess. I stamped and water colored the bird and flowers before cutting them out and attaching them to the card. The bee is stamped right on to the card base. See the scallop border? So easy! I punched the border out using the Scallop Border punch and then added the detail with my Early Espresso Stampin Write marker.

Nature’s Walk In Botanical Gazette–Day 4

No, it’s not your imagination! I’m STILL creating cards using the super pretty stamp set, Nature’s Walk. Today’s card is fun because it’s like making your own Designer Series Paper! I stamped the images all over a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock using Not Quite Navy, Bravo Burgundy, and So Saffron Classic Inks. I punched holes in the borders, tore the edges, and layered it with a piece of Bravo Burgundy card stock. Pearls and a matted sentiment finish it right up! I also stamped the bird image in Not Quite Navy onto the card base for some added interest! And, yes, I know it’s not Father’s Day but I did think it would make a nice masculine card so….Happy Father’s Day! I cased this card from a similar one in an old Idea Book and Catalog. Nature Walk In Botanical Gazette–Day 3

Today’s card is a continuation of a series I’m posting this week that use the Nature’s Walk stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog and the Botanical Gazette Designer Series Paper that coordinates beautifully with it. The birdcage on the right hand side is a part of the designer paper so no stamping necessary there! I stamped the flower image in Not Quite Navy on to the card base, layered the card stock and designer paper and added a cut out bird that I stamped and colored using an Aquapainter. The sentiment is stamped right on to the designer paper. I think this makes a nice masculine card!

Nature Walk in Botanical Gazette Colors

I’ve been working on my own cards for a swap I’m hosting over on my facebook page and have made so many now that it’s ridiculous. And yet I STILL haven’t settled on a card to trade out with the other talented ladies! I made several using the Nature Walk stamp set and the Botanical Gazette designer paper from the Occasions Mini Catalog so I decided to share those cards with you this week.

Simple Friendship paired with In Colors Mojo #174

I had fun with today’s cards! These cards highlight some of this year’s In Colors: Concord Crush and Poppy Parade. I used this week’s Mojo Monday sketch to create these two cards. I would have made more but I realized I didn’t have the other colors of ribbon! The designer papers were from the Level 1 Hostess pack of In Color papers. Let me tell you~ it’s a great reason to host a workshop! The cards were layered with their respective colored card stock and Whisper White Card Bases. The images were stamped in Craft Whisper White and embossed with White embossing powder on card stock.

All of the images are from the Simple Friendship stamp set. It is gorgeous, don’t you think?

The small flower elements were punched using the Trio Flower punch and I added a Basic Rhinetone. The scalloped square was cut using the scalloped border punch. Then I used the white Uni Ball Signo Gel Pen to create “dots” on each of the scallops.

I did use a punch to cut out the image “friend” circle and cut out the buttery with paper snips.

Celebrations and Birthday Bliss

It has been a crazy week here in South Carolina with the snowstorms and the kids being home ALL WEEK! My oldest son, Edward, returned to college on Sunday. BOO HOO. He’s a cadet at The Citadel in Charleston, SC, and I was so sad to not be with him on his birthday yesterday. So bear with me while I brag on him and his handsome self. He’s twenty years old now. UGH! I really have no idea where the time has gone.

This is a picture of him (and me) in his really cool dress blues. These aren’t the formals mind you…just the dressier parade uniform. I love a man in uniform by the way! If you think the blues are pretty, check out the Summer Whites….WHEW~

or what they wear to school everyday! Nothing like a Southern boy acting “nice.” Anyway, I love him and am so proud of him. Thanks for indulging me! On to the birthday cards….

The first card and next three were all made using the Celebrations Designer Series Paper (117164, $9.95) , the Birthday Bliss stamp set (115442, $15.95), and the Celebrations Quick Accents die cut stickers pack (118708, $8.95).

All of the cards are made with Whisper White Card Stock bases and are standard size cards. The first card pictured has a piece of designer paper and two of the border die cut stickers. I added a length of Bashful Blue ribbon across the top. The image was stamped in Pacific Point classic ink and punched out with the Tag punch. I added a little detail of a scalloped edge to the back of it before layering it onto another punched tag. The two Real Red buttons give it a little “punch.”

The next card has a strip of designer paper on the left with Basic Rhinestones on the top and bottom of it. The sentiment was stamped in Jet Black Stazon ink. The accent piece is designer paper cut with the Big Shot and the Two Tags die. I added a button and a length of Bashful Blue 1/4” grosgrain ribbon.

Next up…(This feels kinda like a fashion show!)

A strip of Pacific Point card stock has one punched edge with the Scallop Edge punch. It is layered with a piece of Real Red card stock and a piece of designer paper. I added a bow of the white taffeta ribbon and a strip of the Basic Rhinestones. The image was stamped twice, once in Pacific Point and once in Real Red. I cut the words and frame out and layered them onto the Pacific Point image before layering the whole cut out image onto a Real Red punched wide oval. And for the last card….

I folded a 4-1/4 x 11 piece of Whisper White cardstock to form a card and then cut one end off so that it is shorter and allows the die cut sticker borders to show. The image was stamped in Jet Black Stazon ink and then colored in using Stampin Write markers. It is layered onto a piece of Pacific Point card stock cut with the Big Shot and the Scallop Square Duo die. The top of the card is a piece of designer paper layered onto Pacific Point. I added a bow made of Satin Whisper White ribbon and a jumbo brad.

Love Impressions Rub-Ons

One of the FUN things about being a Stampin’ Up demonstrator is all the perks and goodies that you get! It is a great company that really does appreciate us. Today’s cards were made using a package of rub-ons that Stampin’ Up sent us as a gift! The complete package is available in the Occasions Mini Catalog. It’s the Love Impressions set on page 8 (Item 121886, $7.95) that is part of the the Hugs and Kisses suite of coordinating products including Designer Papers, Letterpress Plates, stamps and the gorgeous Glimmer Paper.

I made the card above and four 3x3 love notes for Valentines using one sheet of the package. It comes with four total sheets! The rub-ons coordinate with Real Red, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White and Basic Gray.

I did use Pretty in Pink because I just like the darker shade of pink. I still think it looks good. I also added Basic Rhinestones for a little “bling.”

Love Birds and Mojo Mondays

It’s been snowing here in the South and let me tell you, we have no idea what to do with ourselves! The news here shows people sledding in canoes, skating on roads, etc. We are meant to be a sunny and warm place, I am sure! I spent my time freezing and stamping! Today’s post is all about using up the extra pieces from the Love Birds Simply Scrappin Kit that I used for my Scrapbook Class this month.

You can still order the Scrapbook Class kit to be completed at home and have enough stickers and DSP to make these cards too!

The first card is a 5-1/4” square Certainly Celery card with accents of Basic Pearls, a sentiment from the set, Full of Life, stamped in Early Espresso Classic Ink, a leftover button from the Holiday mini catalog and a length of So Saffron ribbon. The bird and circles and designer paper squares are all from the Simply Scrappin Kit. This card was based on a Mojo Monday sketch. I LOVE to use sketches when I just can’t get going!

Okay, on to the next card! This card is a standard size card made from an Early Espresso card stock base. The scallop circle and the oval mat for the sentiment were punched from Certainly Celery card stock. The Basic Pearls add a fun touch!

Again, the designer papers, the sentiment and owl circle were from the Love Birds Simply Scrappin Kit. This card was created using yet another Mojo Monday Sketch!

I didn’t even need a stamp to create this card! And I think it’s just as cute as it can be and would make the perfect Valentine’s Day card. What do you think?

Okay, one more card for you! This next card was also made using the Love Birds Simply Scrappin Kit.

This one might be my favorite. It is a standard size card made with the Blushing Bride cardstock. It has lots of interest including the flower brads, taffeta ribbon and a sentiment from the Full of Life stamp set punched out with the Decorative Label punch. The little hearts were punched out using the Two-Step Owl punch and the gorgeous border on the bottom was punched using the Eyelet Border punch.

I was on a “Mojo” roll so this card was also based on a Mojo Monday sketch. It’s a great way to create a pretty card without so much WORK! Try it out for yourself…

Happy Valentines Day in Concord Crush

I hope you like today’s post – I had a heck of a time taking a picture of it! I’ve been on a white craft ink “kick” lately and have had fun playing with it. I should tell you, though, that it’s smeared literally everywhere! Have to remember that it dries slowly and not to be so careless with it….I should have dried the ink with a heat gun after each step but I really have no patience.

This Valentines Day card is inspired by the Lap of Luxury Designer Series Paper that I used in the card set I posted the the other day. I did use a small piece of the Concord Crush DSP from that pack of paper for the center focus of the card.

I have a terrible habit of just grabbing stamps and not considering that I’m pulling from three different sets which makes it kinda hard to case, I know! Guess you’ll have to stock up too! To make the cool frame for the sentiment, I played with my punches. I decided finally on the Designer Label punch to create the cool sides on my frame. I cut the card stock down to fit the opening on the punch so that it would fit nicely. Now I still have the old style punch but this should still work with the new style punches. This is the new style……

and the old style…..

I just inserted the card stock into the top of the punch (be sure you get it into the tiny opening where the actual cut is made) and let the tail of the cardstock hang out…and squeeze!

And the bling??? It’s my favorite Basic Rhinestones! They are self-adhesive to just stick them right on the coordinating ribbon. (I love me some bling!)

Bonus Tutorial! How to die cut a pre-printed page

You readers are just the best! I’m so glad you liked the MDS Christmas tags from yesterday! I got so many emails wanting to know how I was able to cut the printed paper and line up the die so that it would cut in the right place that I decided to do you a quick little tutorial to show you! Let me know if it helps. Your comments will be my Christmas present! Let’s go….

Click on any pictures to see up close better. My camera is kinda stinky.

1. Use a heavy piece of cardstock for the template. I like to use the backing from my Designer Papers. It’s just right for this. Cut the card stock to 5-1/2 inches.

2. Fold the piece of heavy cardstock in half lengthwise.

3. Place the folded piece of card stock onto the die so that the fold is close to the edge of the die that you want to cut. My die was the Two Tags die so there are actually two different shapes to cut.

3. Run the piece through the Big Shot. See the example in the picture - - the fold is AWAY from the shape that you want to cut. This gives you room to move your paper around. You’ll see later.

4. Now position the cut piece BACK ON THE DIE so that it is lined up with the shape. Tape it down on the edges so that it won’t move.

Notice the placement on the die once the template is taped down. The fold is OPEN.

5. Cut your pre-printed paper so that it will fit in the Big Shot Machine and also line up easily with the die. (Mine was created in My Digital Studio and you can see that' it’s a “rough” version because I intended to cut it out. I also added my circles on the bottom so that I could punch those out separately.)

6. Line up the cut pre-printed sheet of graphics inside the fold of your template that is taped down to the die. Fold over the top and this will allow you to actually SEE what part will be cut. (I sure hope this makes sense!)

5. NOW YOU’RE READY! Run the piece through the Big Shot and feel good because you can cut out 25 of these in no time now!

Here’s another fun little gift for friends! It’s a gift package of lotion and lip balms from Avon. They are already pretty cute on their own so EASY! We packaged these up with some Melon Mambo shredded cardstock in a cellophane bag. These are the cello bags in the Stampin Up catalog and seal up on one side. We punched small holes in the top right corner and threaded a torn strip of the Candy Cane Christmas Designer Fabric through them. We tied a bow and added a matching tag and tied it off with a matching button. LIKE?

My Digital Studio makes gift giving easy! Tags!

During Christmas, it is so important to remember ALL of the people who touch your life everyday. My friend and I spent the afternoon putting together special treats and gifts for the teachers, neighbors, and others who we are thankful for.

Today’s share is one of those projects! It is a really fun snack called “White Trash” that everybody loves. We packaged it all up in cellophane bags and put the whole thing in a really cute pottery inspired container.

The tags were created using My Digital Studio, the awesome software by Stampin Up. I used the download “Holly and Jolly” embellishments and the stamp brush set “A Holly Jolly Christmas” for the sentiment. Then we cut out the print work using the Big Shot and the Two Tags Die.

We tied a ribbon on and added a stamped circle and silver brad to the center for accent. I personally think that you NEED something else added on when you use a printed tag of any kind.

White Trash Recipe

Ingredients:
     Box Rice Chex
     Box Corn Chex
     Bag Pretzels
     1/2 Jar of Peanuts
     Bag of Red and Green M&Ms
     4 bags of White Chocolate morsels

Directions:

Pour all of the ingredients except for the chocolate morsels into a large, clean and new trash bag. Mix it all up thoroughly. Melt the chocolate in the microwave two bags at a time and pour over the mixture in the bags, mixing thoroughly again. Pour mixture onto a wax-sheet covered table and separate pieces. Allow to dry.

More on the craft show! So sorry - - I know you’ve been anxiously awaiting! Your emails are just so sweet!

So right to it! The “wall” behind the table is just a 4x8 piece of pegboard that has been framed with 2x4 lumber. To brace it in the back, it has 1x2 pieces screwed in every three feet. The wall is free-standing but a little flimsy because it stands on shelf brackets. I would NOT put this wall out in the open. It won’t tip over but it WILL sway. It works perfect behind tables though and is very light and fits easily into the back of my Ford Expedition. By the way, I am able to carry EVERYTHING in my car with the seats down!

On the back wall are the Mini Muffin Tin Advent Calendars like the ones HERE on Etsy. The idea is to put little treats in the pan and cover the 24 holes with a scalloped circle. I attached hangers onto the back of mine with E6000 and used ribbon to hang them. This way, the ribbon can come off and the tin can be used. I sold these for $15 and sold six of them.

The other items on the back wall are my Joy Wall Hanging from my Twelve Weeks of Christmas tutorials. ($8.00) and the Christmas Cheer Advent Calendar ($40) which was also from my Twelve Weeks of Christmas program.

I couldn’t figure out the best way to tell you all the individual items I had for sale at my craft fair space so I decided to take each section and break it down. Shown above is a picture of the left side of the display. Some of the items listed will be highlighted so you can click on them to learn more about how to make them yourself.

To display the Paperclip Bookmarks, I used an easel and a couple of cookbooks and showed them all around the sides. These were $1.00 each and sold completely out. I made 80 of these and sold completely out of them. So maybe they should have been $1.50???

Directly in front of the bookmarks are the Magnetic Refrigerator Notepads. I tied a little ribbon around them to keep people from fanning the pages. These were $3.00 each and made a great companion to the bookmarks.

DVD Gift Tins of Glass Magnets $12.00 I found these kinda hard to display because if they were open, you didn’t see how precious the outsides were decorated but closed, you didn’t know they were magnets. So I had to TALK about these - - they didn’t sell themselves. Any ideas? (I did sell all but two of them!)

Christmas Cupcake/Muffin Picks $3.00 These are made pretty much like the paperclip bookmarks but are attached to wooden picks. I packaged them in groups of six in a cello bag with a Top Note to close the bag.

Gift Box of Christmas Tags $10.00 I made only four sets of the tags and sold completely out of them. (One of the Twelve Weeks of Christmas Projects)

Scented Vintage Christmas Sachets $3.00 I made three different designs of these and used two different colors of satin ribbon. (One of the Twelve Weeks of Christmas Projects)

Skinny Bags Treat Favors $2.00 These were decorated with accents exactly like the bookmarks, the magnetic pads and the cupcake picks. Who DOESN’T love those skinny little bags of M&Ms or Nestle Pieces!

Top Shelf left to right:

Packaged Reindeer Food $2.00 These are packaged with Top Notes in cello bags with a cute poem. To display them, I put them all in a basket. The problem was that as they sold, they feel down into the basket so I had to pull one out and set it in front of the basket to display it better since it was on the top shelf.

Framed Coundown to Christmas Art $8.00 for the 5x7 size and $12.00 for the 8x10 size. These also included a dry erase marker attached to the back with velcro dots. (One of the Twelve Weeks of Christmas Projects)

Tile Necklace Ornaments $6.00 These are packaged glass tile necklaces and were also displayed in other parts my booth space. As they began to sell out, I just kept consolidating them so that eventually there were none on this shelf!

Christmas Gift Box of Stamped Candles $8.00 I only had four of these to display so I stacked them and laid one on its side so you could see the actual candles. These sold out too. (One of the Twelve Weeks of Christmas Projects)

Today’s about LAYOUT – My space is exactly 10x10 and it feels pretty small when you try to cram it all in there! So here’s the low-down.

I have three 6-foot tables and one 4-foot table. The 4-foot table is the small on across the front on the left of the space. The most important part of the whole display is what you place in the front. This is because when shoppers are walking by, you need to be able to STOP them. They need to want to stop and look and then at least glance around your space at the other awesome stuff you can make with Stampin Up. So put the “best-seller” there.

The 6-foot tables are placed as pictured. Two of them are on the right hand side of the space and across the back to form an L-shape and the third table is on the left of the space.

I have two “walls” so that I can add more height and have a place to HANG things. I have one wall made of pegboard that I hung the advent calendars and banners on. As I sold out of things, it’s easy to move the hooks around and reconfigure the wall. The second wall was made of plastic lattice (nice and light) and gave me a place to hang my Vista-Print free banner and signs about my Stampin Up business like Hosting a workshop, Becoming a Demo, my classes, etc. I put that wall right where I kinda hang out. My catalogs and other business information are on the table right next to me so I can TALK about them!

Craft Fair #7–Continuation of Craft Fair Report

My space was EXACTLY 10x10. So I needed to cram it all in there and still have space to move around. See the little space between the tables at the left….that’s MY spot. That’s where I kinda stand so I’m not in the way but can talk to people. It’s really important to acknowledge and visit with people. I’m sure YOU aren’t like this but I get all intimidated about walking around in any store or space and feeling like the “worker” is staring at me and thinking God knows what…..so make your shoppers feel comfortable and let them know that YOU LIKE THEM. I do love people so this is pretty easy I think.

To make shoppers even more comfortable I wore the Stampin Up “outfit” of dark pants and white shirt with my apron. This does a couple of things….it makes you non-competitive with your shoppers. In other words, your outfit isn’t more trendy or LESS trendy for example than your shopper and you don’t brand yourself as anything except a Stampin Up demo! The second thing it does is make you the OBVIOUS person to ask questions and pay.

Behind the table at the left is a small open space with a folding chair. This was the perfect space for our pocketbooks and drinks and the money box. Be sure you have a money box and have plenty of change on hand. I’m a complete SPAZ so I tried to keep a few ones in my apron pocket and pass the big stuff over to the more responsible helpers who would actually put the money in the box! I just used a plastic pencil box so don’t go spend more money on something that doesn’t matter!

My tablecloths come all the way to the floor. This makes it PERFECT to store my extra stuff like the boxes and extra catalogs and other supplies. Here’s some things that came in handy for me to have on hand:

1. Glue Dots – INVALUABLE for hanging banners and signs
2. Snail Adhesive
3. Scissors
4. Hooks and Command Hooks for hanging things on walls
5. Tissue paper to wrap fragiles in
6. Gum and Mints
7. A small cooler with drinks ( I GOTTA HAVE MY DR PEPPER!)
8. Paper sacks for shoppers (The huge bag of lunch sacks at Sams was perfect for this.) I made labels with my website info on them for the outside.
9. Stapler
