The Summer Mini Catalog (click on the picture to the right to download and view) has some adorable papers and stamp sets but I was immediately drawn to these! The papers used on these cards are from the limited time only set of Designer Series paper, Island Oasis and the images are from the stamp set, Tropical Party. I needed some inspiration for the layouts so I went to one of my favorite sites, Clean and Simple Stamping and used two of the many many layouts there. The Old Olive ribbon used here is from the retiring Ribbon Originals called Elementary and the Chocolate ribbon shown below is in the Summer Mini Catalog as well.

I will be so sad to see the Wow Flowers stamp set retire. It’s one of my favorites and is an easy “go to” set for a quick project. The card I made above was cased from a past catalog from Stampin Up. Notice the raised looking flowers on the left. I really like to use this technique. I punched flowers out of the same color card stock as the base card and then just adhere them. It gives a pretty texture to the card.

For the next several posts, I will be “reminding” you of the beautiful stamp sets that are retiring June 30. They are on the Last Chance List (see the buttons on the side bar) and are only available while supplies last.
Today’s card was made using one of my favorite stamp sets, “Embrace Life" and some of the retiring colors also. The leaves were stamped with Mellow Moss and the flower and sentiment were stamped with Really Rust. Both of these colors are also retiring. The background is Ruby Red card stock and on the retiring list as well. The two Red flowers were cut from the Designer Series paper, Pink Flamingo, which is also on its way out! I cased this card from a project on the Stampin Up website back in 2008. LOVE IT!

You can almost feel the cool spring breezes when you look at this graceful flora. Send a bit of that fresh air to a friend or capture it in a scrapbook with this stamp set. Stamp different flowers and gather them together to create a lovely bouquet, or stamp a whole meadow full of one bloom to grace the
front of a card or scrapbook page.
