Sweet Pea Designer Paper Scrapbook Page

I guess you've figured out by now that I think the Sweet Pea Designer Paper is just the "coolest!" This scrapbook page highlights the trendy colors and designs found in this paper I think.

I used the paper for the base of the 12x12 page and added just a couple of elements since it's so pretty all on its own. I cut out a piece of Pretty in Pink Card Stock using the Big Shot and the Top Note die and layered it behind a piece of Chocolate Chip card stock that I zig zag stitched around. The ribbon is the Pumpkin Pie colored striped ribbon and I think it's gorgeous. I used a Pretty in Pink corduroy button brad in the center of the bow to tie it all together.

I'm planning to add a picture of my girls to the frame and journaling to the Top Note portion of the page. Do tell me what you think...it's getting lonely in cyberspace again!

Well Scripted and Sweet Pea Designer Paper

Sometimes you just need to be able to "whip out a card!" This birthday card took about three minutes to make (and NO, I'm NOT including clean-up time!)

The card base is Chocolate Chip card stock and sponged with Chocolate Chip ink. I pierced holes in a two-inch tall piece of So Saffron card stock and stamped it with the Happy Birthday image from the Well Scripted stamp set in the Occasions Mini Catalog. (Downloadable from my sidebar!) I tied a piece of the scrumptious Pretty in Pink satin ribbon (also in the Occasions Mini) around it and adhered it to the card base.

The little "flower" was made by punching a piece of Sweet Pea designer paper using the new Extra Large Fancy Flower punch and then crumpling it up, distressing it and sponging Chocolate Chip ink on it. Layered on to it is a punched circle of Taken With Teal card stock and a So Saffron button from the Button Latte package of designer buttons. Easy and quick.

Faux Frosting Birthday and Happy Moments

All you girls who came to last month's Technique Night, see what I did with our sample!!!  This card was "kinda" copied right out of the Stampin' Success magazine that we demonstrators get!  We made the 3x3 card shown in the magazine at Technique Night but I took mine apart and used the same colors and design for a full sized card.

The stamped images are from the Happy Moments stamp set which can be found in the Sale A Bration catalog.  The set is FREE with any $50 purchase through the end of March.  (And it is TOO CUTE - so don't miss it!)

Here’s how to frost your creations:

1 Mix Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter with your choice of Stampin’ Emboss powder. Use a one-to-one ratio, or if you prefer less sparkle, use two parts embossing powder to one part glitter. The best way to mix these is to shake them in a bag. Stirring doesn’t work as well because the glitter is lighter than the embossing powder and will end up on top.

2 Stamp and prepare your project. Then apply Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive to the area you want to frost. Leave some texture as you apply the Tombow so it mimics the look of real frosting. We spread ours using a circular motion.

3 Sprinkle your secret powdered mixture over the frosted area.

4 Shake off excess powder.

5 Heat set as you would any embossed image. When the frosting starts to bubble, stop and let the bubbles go down. Then heat set again
to make sure the adhesive is completely dry.

Wedding Joy Fold Card

Don't look at me with those ACCUSING eyes! I KNOW this card was not made with 100% Stampin Up materials! I made this card for my niece who is getting married in April and is planning to have the color "Fig" not purple in her wedding! I had some old Basic Gray papers and thought they would work perfect.

The main portion of the card was made using SU! Kraft card stock and Confetti Cream card stock. I think they are so elegant paired with the Basic Gray satin ribbon from the current Mini Catalog. (You can download it in the sidebar!)

Want to make your own Joy-Fold Card? Here's some simple measurements to make one like mine:

1. Cut your card base to 4-1/4" x 8-1/2". Score it at 5-1/2".
2. Cut the "flap" to 3" x 8". Score it at 4".

Click HERE for an awesome tutorial and other great ideas too.

Sweet Pea Paper and Felt Flowers

I adore sewing on a card and think the new Sweet Pea Designer Paper and felt flowers really lend themselves to that look. This card is a 3x6 card and took all of like five minutes to make.

I trimmed a piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock to fit just inside the Chocolate Chip card stock base. Then I simply cut a piece of the designer paper with the flowers already printed. Now here's what I LOVE about Stampin Up: the flowers on the paper are the same design and shape as the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt Flowers in the Mini Occasions Catalog! So all I had to do was GLUE IT ON! Even I can do that!

Now the stitching was fun -- if you don't have a sewing machine, you could always use a brown pen and draw the stitches! That's the fun of paper crafting. The sentiment is from the Trendy Trees stamp set and was stamped in Chocolate Chip ink onto Very Vanilla Card Stock. I used the Modern Label punch to cut it out and sponged the edges! That's it - -Now GO MAKE YOUR OWN! (And share it on The Southern Stamper Facebook page......BECOME A FAN NOW!)

My Digital Studio Hybrid Invitation

The word "Hybrid" cracks me up - - I mean, HUH? Is it some kind of mutant fish? The type of Bermuda grass that I have in my yard?

It's the official description of the birthday invitation pictured! It's a Hybrid Digital Card. (whatever.) Here's how simple it is to bypass the expensive printer, the cutesy personalized invitations and go straight for the CUTEST invitation! I made this card using My Digital Studio, Stampin' Up's digital software. I just didn't have alot of time to mess around with it so I used one of the greeting card templates, added a text box and THAT'S IT!

I had each invitation printed on matte paper at the local CVS for just cents! When I got home, I wanted it to be a little bit special and even more personalized so I lined the envelopes to go with them. HERE'S WHERE THE "HYBRID" COMES IN:

I punched a small flower out of matching card stock and inserted a brad in the center. I adhered this to the invitation and now I have a cute little personalized invitation for my sweet little daughter that didn't 1. cost a fortune, 2. require three weeks to wait for printing.

It's all so easy and I would love to show you how! Did you know that I am MDS Certified to train others on how to use the software? The software does so much more than scrapbooking. Design greeting cards, movies, invitations, calendars and MORE!

Watch the video below for even more information on what My Digital Studio has to offer—and imagine the possibilities!

Playing with the Sweet Pea

I had some time to make some cards ahead for all sorts of occasions and used only a sheet from the Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper Pack from the Mini Occasions Catalog. I LOVE the combination of So Saffron, Taken with Teal and Old Olive so I just kept going! And the mileage you get from that HUGE stack of paper.....sigh. I didn't even use one of the 12x12 sheets of paper!

The card at the top of the post was stamped with an image from the Love Bugs stamp set which is a Hostess Only set. I think it's a cutie for a baby card. That gorgeous ribbon is from the Mini Occasions Catalog and is the Old Olive satin ribbon.

The gift note to the left was stamped with an image from "Fox & Friends" from the Occasions Mini Catalog and then cut out and layered with punches of different sizes.

Now I have to tell you that the next card might be my favorite from the batch. The lion is also from the "Fox & Friends" stamp set and he's just a sweetie! I stamped him once in Chocolate Chip classic ink on the Very Vanilla card stock piece. Then I stamped him AGAIN in the same color on a piece of SO SAFFRON card stock. I cut out only the mane from the So Saffron piece.

To create the little fringed mane, I clipped along the edges and then frayed them. Then I glued it onto the main image. (Have to be careful NOT to glue down your fringes. The So Saffron and Chocolate Chip colors will both show and make it look like his little cute mane!

And lastly, this is a birthday card I made using the same papers and colors. I used the stamp sets, "Whimsical Words", "On a Pedestal" along with some colorful ribbon and a corduroy button to finish it off. Guess why it's last on the page? RIGHT. Because I don't like it. Now you know!
