Decorate for the Holidays!

Today's post is an adorable wall or door hanging that is so simple to make. I used the Big Shot and cut out eight Scalloped squares from card stock. I chose colors that coordinate with the Merry Moments Designer Series Paper so the design-work was simple.

I then cut out four scalloped circles using the Big Shot and the letters to spell out NOEL. To assemble the hanging, I adhered four different pieces of designer paper to the fronts of four of the squares. Then I adhered the scalloped circle and the letters along with some simple embellishments.

Using Tombow adhesive, I attached the ribbon to the back of each of the squares leaving a loop at the top. Then I adhered the rest of the scalloped squares to the backs. This hides the ribbon and protects it. It also gives the whole thing a little more stability. Lastly, I tied another length of ribbon to the bottom. I thought a jingle bell would have been cute too (if I could stand to hear it all day!)

Want to make your own Noel Wall Hanging?

Purchase the kit for $8.00 and I'll send you everything you need to assemble it yourself. You will receive the papers, die cuts and ribbon as well as the additional embellishments. Designer papers may be substituted but will be from the Merry Moments set and will stay true to the color designs shown. Instructions are included. Postage is included.

Supplies you will need: Adhesive, Scissors

More Gift Card Holders

I had so much fun making the last gift card holder that I thought I would show you the others that I made so you can see the possibilities! The top picture is of a cute little duo of a gift card holder done with a belly band that slides right off along with a box. The box was made easily using the Big Shot and the Box #2 die. As you already know, it comes cut out and scored so all you need to do is close it up!. I added some matching designer paper and a little scallop border to mine to add interest and decorated the outside. The poinsettia on the gift card holder was made by punching out two red and one green flower using the Five Petal Flower Punch. I layered them together with a gold brad and bent the edges of the flower petals.

Here's two more gift card holders done with a ribbon tied to close them. I LOVE THEM! Click HERE for Dawn's Video Tutorial explaining how to make them. Leave me a comment at the bottom and tell me what you think!

Trio of Last-Minute Gift Ideas from Holiday Lounge

I LOVE LOVE the Holiday Lounge Designer Series Paper. It is so retro and so modern and I love the combination of Kraft and Taken with Teal on this particular sheet. I've made three items that you've seen everywhere, I know, but we all need a reminder when it gets close to the holidays, don't we? Keep it simple and Do what you know!

This set consists of two bookmarks, a gift card holder in the center and a cute little favor or treat on the right. Wouldn't they be cute bundled in a little basket even?

Easy Magnetized Bookmarks

Starting with the bookmarks, they are very simple and quick to make. I used the Two Tags die with my Big Shot. The trick here is to fold a piece in half and place the fold just inside the die blade before running it through the machine. That way when you pull it out, it is one piece as shown. I used my scallop circle Punch and three circle punches along with the Spotlight On Christmas Stamp Set to finish decorating it along with a small piece of the Designer paper. Attach a couple of magnets on the opposing ends so that when closed and holding your place in a book, it will not move. I've seen these same kind of bookmarks at Barnes and Noble and they are about $6-$8 so make it yourself and SAVE MONEY!

Gift Card Holder Card

The gift card holder is one of my favorite projects to do because it looks so "hard" but is quick and easy to make. Put an I-Tunes card in one for a teenager, a grocery gift card for the mailman, a Spa Gift Card for ME---Oops...just kidding. Directions for these all over the internet but my favorite has to be the video that Dawn at Dawn's Stamping Thoughts has done. Follow her directions and then decorate how you like! I decorated mine with the Designer Paper and the same Scallop Circle treatment as the bookmarks. Aren't they cute together?
On the inside I adhered a piece of Whisper White so I could write a note and attached a punched out star with a brad in the middle just for fun!
Favor or Treat Package
The Two Tags Die is s much fun and Stampin' Up! gave me this too-cute idea to put two of the larger tag together to make the favor. Once the card stock is run through the Big Shot with the Two Tags die, it is already cut out with the hole at the top, the slit underneath and the score lines to fold it. To make the favor, just glue the bottoms of two tags together as shown in the picture. Bring the tops together and tie! These favors would be so cute for your child's classmates, your co-workers, as favors at a party and on and on.
Have fun and don't forget the basics! Make up some of these to have on hand for the "unexpected!"

Mark your calendar NOW! The last class of the year will be Tuesday, December 8, at my house at 6:30. It's Technique Night and is free to anyone who has placed an order during the month of November. $5 fee or Free with minimum $25 order.

Teen Birthday & Tervis Tumblers

My middle child, Emily, who is sixteen, is a huge procrastinator and terrible manager of her own time. She asked just this morning to help her "swoozie up" her gift for her friend's birthday. (Just so you know, Swoozie's is an awesome store with tons of gifts and when you check out, the sales girls always ask, "Would you like me to "Swoozie" this for you?"....which means, "Want me to wrap this for you in really cool colors so your gift will be trendy and cool?"

Sooooo, Emily's gift was this precious Tervis Tumbler which all teens love to drink their sweet tea in. I sell Tervis Tumblers too and this one is a really cute one with a Turquoise, Green and Navy flower that is perfect for her friend. We wrapped some chocolate candy in a cello bag and tied a Turquoise tag on. Then for her Birthday card, we used the Dormant stamp set, Garden Greetings (113716, $21.95) and randomly stamped the images in Tempting Turquoise, Green Galore and Night of Navy. The little flower embellishment is just card stock cut using the Boho Blossoms punch with a brad to hold the layers together.

Be sure to check out the sidebar for a complete listing of Dormant Stamps. The stamp set Garden Greetings can still be ordered but is considered dormant because it is not pictured in the current catalogs.

Thank You!

Today's post is a Fall "Thank You" card inspired by the Stampin Success magazine only available to Demonstrators. Isn't the color combination gorgeous? It was inspired by the Autumn Meadows Designer Series Paper in the current Holiday Mini Catalog (download from the sidebar). The leaf was stamped with the Autumn Splendor stamp set and cut out and the letters were cut out using the Big Shot and the Go-Go Boots dies. Happy Stampin'!
Wish you could receive the Stampin Success magazine? or see the awesome projects on the Demo-Only website for Stampin Up? or get an awesome 20 percent discount on every order?

Being a Stampin Up demo is the bestest!

Being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is just the funnest way to earn a dollar! (Or pay for your own supplies~ Hee Hee) One of the things I hear all the time, "Oh, you're so creaaaatiiiiiivve" or "I could never come up with those ideas!" or "I wish I could make something like that!" You get the idea!

I'm gonna let you in on a little secret: I don't have a creative bone in my body! I am the Queen of Copying and as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I could copy from now till the cows come home and I still wouldn't be able to recreate it all! The projects shown above were right out of Stampin' Success, a magazine that only demontrators receive. I could NEVER have dreamed these up in MY head.

Demonstrators get all kinds of cool perks like the magazine that we get every month FULL of awesome ideas and suggestions. We also get to see the new publications and catalogs before anyone else AND we get to preorder some of the stuff so we impatient types can be the first to get the latest stamp!

My favorite thing is the Stampin' Up! demo-only website because it has everything you could ever ask for from tons of project and workshop ideas to technique how-tos to tons of business tools.

If you know that you would love to be a Demonstrator but think you're not talented or creative enough, think again. Let me show you the awesome tools available to you! Now's the perfect time to jump right in and get started on your new business venture as a creative coach. (I won't tell you copy from the same stuff as me!) The Digital+ Starter Kit is a bargain and a great way to get started! Click on the links in the side bars to learn more or contact me and I'll be happy to discuss the possibilities or click HERE!

Beanie Gift Card Holder

I'm DYING to show you this way too cute Beanie hat gift card holder. It is the perfect size to hold a credit card or plastic gift card. I stumbled on the "original" HERE that was created by Carolina at Carolina's Creative Pad. I changed it up a little by using a scallop circle for the main part of the holder and using the Boho Blossoms punch for my "poof" but otherwise, I followed her video tutorial to the letter!

I used the Night and Day Designer Series paper and Melon Mambo Polka Dot Ribbon. Obviously, I turned the ribbon over ad used the sold side!

Be sure to make one of these for the little "foo-foo" girls on your list--it is just SCRUMPTIOUS!

Same Card Four Different Ways

Today's post is alot of fun because it's all about making a design your own. The card above was one of the cards we made at the October Christmas Card class and uses the candy cane paper from the Merry Moments Designer Series Paper pack. The stamp set used is the brand new Patterned Pines hostess set.

You might not care for the colors and papers used on the card above and that's okay. When you're cruising around the internet and checking out ideas, focus on the DESIGN of a project and then make it your own!
I've created four totally different cards using the exact same design, measurements, and even the same stamp set! In the stamping world, CASE means to "Copy And Share Everything" so the next three cards shown were "CASED" after the top one.

The second card uses Garden Green and So Saffron to change the "fun" Christmas look to a more subdued almost femine look. By changing the papers again to Chocolate Chip, Real Red and Old Olive, the card takes on a more Modern traditional appearance.

The last card is really funky and trendy and might be a great choice for a teenager!
Notice how DIFFERENT each card looks just by changing up the colors of the card stock, designer series paper and ribbon. It's a great way to customize a card to the person you plan to give it to.

Don't stress when you see a project that you love but don't own the exact papers or stamps. CASE it and make it your own by customizing the colors and papers. It's not necessary to create a brand new design to personalize your gifts and projects!

Secret Word: Wish List (didn't get the email? don't miss out on our fun game! send me an email at cjbrasher@aol to be added to my email list! Game ends tomorrow at noon!)
