Fun Fun Fun Ahead!

As promised, the ideas are coming! Today's post highlights a new Stampin' Up! Bigz Die, "Lattice," that I think it just gorgeous! I'm showing you two different cards today so you can see the totally different looks you can get from this one die cut. Click HERE to see how the Big Show works with the dies for a better idea of what I'm describing.

The die cuts the "lattice work" that you see featured on both of these cards. I think it's so pretty layered onto a bold color and embellished with brads, ribbon and stamped images.

There is absolutely no trimming or work involved with creating the lattice. Just layer the Bigz die with the card stock and cutting pads, roll through the Big Shot Machine and Voila!

Parade of cards begins today!

Now that I'm back from vacation, I'm commited to you! I will be posting lots of samples and ideas in the upcoming weeks along with some information regarding current promotions and sales. I'll be going to SALT LAKE CITY for the Stampin' Up! convention in about two weeks and I am SO excited! I'll be posting lots of the samples and ideas from convention here so be sure to check in often.

Today's post is the first of the "parade" of cards. You'll probably recognize the stamped image as its from the "Wagon Full of Fun" set. After stamping the image with Brown Staz-On ink, I colored it in using my blender pen and ink pads. The center of the flower is a corduroy button which gives it a kind of sunflower look, I think. It was adhered to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

The squares of Designer paper were cut using a Stampin' Up! punch so it was really easy to get them exactly right. They were adhered to a piece of Old Olive card stock and then adhered to the Chocolate Chip card stock base.

To finish off the card, I stamped "Hello" in Brown Staz-On Ink directly on to a square of the DSP and then tied a length of Old Olive 1/2" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon. I hope you like it!

Thanks for the weave!

Remember when you were a kid and you made placemats with woven strips of paper? Well, this card lets you enjoy it all over again! The woven strips are 1/2" wide and are layered on top of the card stock base and additional panel.

The scrolls were cut out using the Big Shot and the shapes layered with the sentiment were cut out using Stampin' Up! punches. Don't you love the color combination?

Gift Note with Scallops

As you probably already know, I have three children: the "big kids," Edward and Emily and "the baby," Maci Ellen. When the big kids were little, I liked to put little notes in their lunch boxes or book bags so they wouldn't miss me during the day. Now the baby will be starting kindergarten in August and I'm already planning to do the same for her.

Today's post is one of these little notes that would be perfect to attach to a gift, tuck inside a lunch box or briefcase or give to someone to tell them that you care. It is so simple and only takes a couple of minutes to make. The card base is Melon Mambo card stock and was trimmed slightly on the front right side so that the olive green eyelet border would show. The half circle on the left side was punched out and trimmed before adhering to the folded edge of the card. The flower detail was stamped onto Whisper White Card stock, watercolored, cut out and adhered with a dimensional to the card. For added dimension, I added some micro beads to the center. The sentiment is a rub-on from the Chit Chat rub-ons pack.

So easy. There's no excuse not to tell someone that you care!

Sudsol Design Challenge #52

Yesterday was SO exciting! I hope you had a chance to see the Deal of the Week, the new Idea Book & Catalog, the Definitely Decorative Catalog, the new In-Colors and more! If you missed any of these, the links are to the left of this post and easy to find. Have fun.

Today's post is a card using one of the new In-Colors: Bermuda Bay. I followed a sketch that was provided by a Demonstrator Only group so I had a little inspiration. My daughter chews gum like a spaz! Her favorite is Five Gum and I think one of the reasons she likes it is because she and her friends play with the wrappers.

She showed me last night how you can separate the foil from the paper part of the wrapper and it is slightly adhesive. She and her friends have covered entire notebooks with it. (Notice how cute Emily is too since you're here visiting! She's sixteen and really fun. Gotta have a little Mommy-brag time.)

Anyway, inspired a little more, I ran the gum wrapper through my Big Shot using the Little Leaves Sizzlet Die. I used a nearly worn out cutting pad set and got the added bonus of the texture you can see on the leaves. All of the previous "cuts" on my cutting pad textured the foil wrapper. I think it's really cool. I just wish I could get whole sheets of this stuff!
