Rockin' Notes!

No, I'm not dead! I'm posting the cute little girl skull from the Just Jawing stamp set because some of you think I must be! I've just been a little busy being Mom and working so I'll try to do better. Today's post is showing you the composition books I've altered. These are the notebook size books that you get your gets every year at school supply time.
I glued some DSP onto the book and sanded the edges (pretty much the same way I did the chipboard book) and then decorated them up! The picture below shows the up-close of the book but my camera takes such lousy pictures that it still doesn't show the detail. The shiny circles are build a brads (without the brad) stuck to the red skull paper. The eyes have been colored in red and glittered and the hair bos has a clear rhinestone brad with glitter and has been lacquered. I would LOVE to know what you think!!!
Stamps: Just Jawing
Paper: Rockabilly DSP, Black CS, Riding Hood Red CS
Ink: Black Craft Ink, Real Red Stampin' Write Marker
Accessories: Dress Up Ribbon Originals, Build a Brads, Clear Rhinestone Brads
Cool Tools: Big Shot and Go Go Boots Letters, Crystal Effects, Black Embossing Powder (for "You Rock" sentiment)

The next picture below is another altered notebook with a totally different look. I used some of the rub-ons and the five-petal punch to make flowers! Enjoy!!

Petal Pizzaz Shout Out

I finally had a chance to chill out tonight and just relax and play but (typical of me) I got kinda lonely so here's my shout out to say "Hi" to my friends and fellow stampers! I had fun with this card using the trendy colors in the Urban Oasis Designer Series papers. It's a little bit "Spring" but not so PASTEL~!

The layers of the flowers beginning with the bottom of the flowers are as follows:
1. Die cut "Circles, Scallop #2"
2. Stamped image from Petal Pizzaz
3. Felt flower from the Flower Fusion Too set
4. Stamped image from Petal Pizzaz
5. Dew Drop (non SU!) ~a brad or button would be cute here too~

Stamps: Petal Pizzaz
Inks: Kiwi Kiss Classic Ink
Paper: Urban Oasis DSP, Baja Breeze and Very Vanilla CS
Accessories: Ribbon Originals (Valet), Big Shot and Circles, Scallop #2 die and Go Go Boots Letters die, Dazzling Diamonds

This card is a "bonus" to prove that my creativity is pretty much non-existent! (Thought it would make you feel better!) I didn't like how this turned out but I DO love the colors so that's why it's here. At the bottom of the post. Where you probably won't look. Did you?

Oh, and I also like the butterfly image from the new stamp set, Great Friend, in the Occasions Mini Catalog available April 1. Cute, huh?

Stamps: Great Friend, Hope Happens
Inks: Bashful Blue and Pumpkin Pie Classic Inks
Paper: So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie and Whisper White CS; Washington Apple DSP
Accessories: Bashful Blue 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, Circle Fire Rhinestone Brads (Pumpkin)

Chipboard Cheat Book

This is a picture of the book I made to keep all of my samples and instructions for the techniques I'm learning. It was so fun to make and easy too!! I used a glue stick and attached Designer Series Paper to chipboard pieces then just decorated it like I might do with a card or scrapbook page. The edges were sanded with Stampin' Up!'s sanding blocks to blend the edges and give it a more finished look. Using the Crop-A-Dile, I punched holes in the top and connected it all with 1" book rings. Notice the orange and yellow center of the flower!! My wonderful upline, Patty Bennett came up with this genius idea. It was make by layering the smallest corduroy button-brad onto the button with two holes. HOW CUTE IS THAT???

This book would be so cute as a memory book or gift book don't you think? The possibilities are endless!

Supplies:

Book: On Board Book Basics Small
Papers: Washington Apple DSP, Riding Hood Red CS (on the inside), Pumpkin Pie (letters)
Accessories: Corduroy Buttons, Pretties Kit, Flower Fusion, Ribbon Originals (Pig Tails), Riding Hood Red 5/8" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Bashful Blue 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon
Cool Tools: Big Shot and Top Note Die and Stampin' Up Billboard (letters)

Happy Birthday, Cupcake!

Today's post is a birthday set I made for a little girl. The picture's not too clear but the set includes a notepad, a gift bag with a matching gift note. The colors are just adorable, aren't they??? To cover the notepad, I used a glue stick and covered the entire notepad. Then I adhered the paper and sanded the edges once it was dry. I used a contrasting pattern for the an accent on the top along with some ribbon. So easy, even I can do it!
Stamps: Wow Flowers, Crazy for Cupcakes
Inks: Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette, Creamy Caramel Classic Inks, Black Stazon
Paper: Sweet Always DSP, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Regal Rose CS
Accessories: Love Sparkles Simply Scrappin Kit, Regal Rose Grosgrain Ribbon, Pink Pirouete Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Whisper White Jumbo Brad

SDC Design Challenge #42

This is a card I made for the SUDSOL Design Challenge this week. The challenge was to create a monochromatic card and I had a lot of fun making this one. I am actually drawn to the monochromatic look more than the "busy" stuff so this one was a little easier for me. You can't tell it in the picture very well but one of the flowers is raised using Stampin' Dimensionals. Hope you have a good day!

Tonight I played with some of the new things I got from the Occasions Mini Catalog. We demo-types get to pre-order and play before the actual catalog is even released! Cool, huh?

The DSP papers shown in the projects are from the new To The Nines Specialty Papers. The designs are printed on textured, cover-weight card stock and are really fun to work with! Because they are heavier, I used Sticky Strip on the bag/box and the note pad.

Love Sparkles Second Edition

Here is another page for those of you who attended the Love Sparkles Scrapbook class and still have some leftover materials. This page was made from some of the scraps I had left over. The large from on the left could accomodate a 5x7 picture although I only have a 4x6. The small pictures are all 3x3. Cut the journaling piece 2x6-1/2. The "corner" at the top left was made with a square piece cut 4x4. I scored it diagonally both ways then folded it into a corner and adhered one side of it so I had a "pocket" of sorts. Then I cut a slit in the front of the pocket down the middle, put eyelets in and laced the hemp twine to tie it shut. Kinda fun I think!

Want more ideas?? Plan to come to the Monthly Scrapbooking classes planned or for a full day, plan to come to the Scrappin' for Greer Community Ministries Event on Saturday, Mar 21.

Stamps: A Happy Heart
Ink: Chocolate Chip Classic Ink
Papers: Love Sparkles Simply Scrappin Kit (Chocolate Chip and So Saffron CS)
Embellishments: So Saffron Ribbon from the "Dress Up" Ribbon Originals, Natural Hemp Twine, Metallic Eyelets

Okay, I'm listening!!!

I know that I had announced that there would not be a Scrapbook class this month since I am participating in the Scrappin' for Greer Community Ministries Day but.....Due to so many requests, I have decided to add one to next week. As always, this can be ordered as a Kit to Go if you would like to have the kit to work on at home instead of with the group. As you know, the kit only includes the papers and embellishments with the instructions so you would need to provide your own ink, stamps, etc.

This class will be a two-page layout (shown above and below) using Sunshine Garden Simply Scrappin' Kit elements. This class does not include the leftover pieces of the kit. It will only include the supplies and materials necessary to create the layout shown. You may purchase the whole kit and receive the class for Free if you choose to do so. Please see the options listed below.

Preserve your memories forever with this one-of-a-kind scrapbook layout! Its soft colors and beautiful design are sure to compliment your photos and bring the freshness of spring into your scrapbook.

Easter Cards

I went out to dinner last night and conveniently "forgot" that I need to lose weight. I had shrimp scampi and lobster and so on and so on. So good and yummy.......until about 2:30 this morning.
Since I couldn't sleep, I got out my new stamp sets from the upcoming Mini Occasions catalog and played with the Easter stamps. The stamp set shown on these two cards is "An Egg-cellent Easter" and I think it is just as cute as can be.

During the month of March, you will be able to pre-order the Easter sets from the Mini-O
ccassions catalog so you can get started on your Easter projects in plently of time so that you can enjoy the beach instead of worrying with it during Spring Break. And don't forget that you can choose a FREE item from the Sale A Bration brochure for every $50 purchase. The designer paper used on these cards was from the Delicate Dots paper in that brochure.

Easter Treat

Got a new "toy" in and just had to play with it!! This cute little basket was made with absolutely creativity necessary out of the Baskets and Blooms die for the Big Shot. So cool. You just run the paper through the Big Shot and out comes the basket, tags for decorating it and everything except the M&Ms!!! I just love it! Order the Big Shot, the Baskets & Blooms Die and the Extended Cutting pads now and get THREE FREE STAMP SETS from the Sale a Bration brochure. Can you even believe it?

This treat was made with the Tea Party Designer Series Paper.

Making a Liar out of me

CLICK ON PICTURE FOR A BETTER VIEW. This is one of the projects I'm making for the upcoming Shamrocks on the Square event for my booth space. They are packages of four gift enclosures for baby gifts or to use as shower favors. I love the simplicity of them. They are little 2x3" note cards with matching envelopes that I cut out with the Scallop Envelope Die and the Big Shot. (OOOHHH, I DO love a Big Shot!)

I was just running my mouth the other day saying I didn't really like the "Holiday Blitz" stamp set that I purchased because I didn't have any use for it. Lo and Behold! Here's this cute little rattle in the set that was the perfect size and shape for my little notes. I also made note sets using the apple (for teachers, duh!), the present, the cupcake, and on and on. Made a liar out of myself. I just love this set!

The "tab" at the top of the bags was made using the Top Note Die and the Big Shot. It is the perfect way to finish off a simple gift.

Card Stock: Pink Pirouette, Bashful Blue
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Bashful Blue Classic Inks
Embellishments: Pretty in Pink and Bashful Blue 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon (see my Ribbon Share Club to get some ribbon of your own!!)
Cool Tools: Big Shot, Scallop Envelope Die, Top Note Die

Coasters for your cool drink

I grabbed these stone tiles at Lowes the other day and with the help of Emily, Katie and Marianna made these coasters. We made sets of four of each of the designs shown and let me tell you, we felt so artistic!!!

These are really very simple. To make them, stamp your image in craft ink or staz-on ink, blend a little chalk where you would like and then seal with an acrylic sealant. Cool, huh? Makes me want to grab a cold ice tea with lemon and set it down in style!

Snowed in and Stampin'

I have to admit that I didn't believe it when ONCE AGAIN everyone was talking about us getting snow. (Especially since it had been pretty warm last week) But IT DID SNOW and when the schools were cancelled and work was cancelled? Well, honey, do a jig and get out the stamps!! Check out the pictures of my house. It was so pretty and it's been a few years since we had this nice of a snow!
