Muffin Countdown to Christmas Break

Today's post is a precious little box that I made for Emily's secret teacher at school. We are going to make something for her every day to count down the days until Christmas break.

So, I made a muffin box! Inside this cute little box are the yummiest cinnamon muffins! Can you picture it with a cupcake inside and decorated for a birthday? Mmmmmmm! I love it even I did make it!

The inside has a custom insert to hold the muffin in place.

The top has a cut out window that I put a panel of a piece of a printed window sheet.

Want to make your own? Here's how:

PREP: Cover a piece of card stock with designer paper or make your box out of card stock.

LID: Cut piece of covered card stock at 5-3/4" x 5-3/4". Score at 1" on all four sides. Cut or punch a circle in the center if desired. Adhere a 3-1/4" square piece of window sheet to the inside on four corners. Cut slits at the bottom vertical score lines on two sides up to the horizontal score line. Adhere the flaps to form the lid.

BOTTOM: Cut piece of covered card stock at 8-1/2" x 8-1/2" square. Score at 2-1/2" on all four sides. Cut slits at the bottom vertical score lines on two sides up to the horizontal score line. Adhere the flaps to form the bottom of the box.

INSERT: Cut piece of covered card stock at 5-1/4" x 5-1/4". Score at 1" on all four sides. Cut or punch a circle in the center to allow for cupcake or muffin. Cut slits at the bottom vertical score lines on two sides up to the horizontal score line. Adhere the flaps to form the insert. Slide into box bottom. cutting picture

Here is an example of how to cut the slits to form the angles of the box and its lid.

I hope you have fun with this! You don't HAVE to put cupcakes or muffins in this useful box. Please share your creations!

My box was made with the Holiday Lounge Designer Paper and some yummy white satin ribbon.
